Baby Bats Swaddled Like Little Burritos Are Way Cuter Than You Might Expect

Baby bats are heart-meltingly cute when they're being swaddled.

Need proof? Look no further than this video shot last week by Adam Cox, of the Wakaleo Animal Channel at the Australian Bat Clinic & Wildlife Trauma Centre in Advancetown, Australia.

The flying fox bats in the clip were orphaned or separated from their mothers during a recent heat wave, and the pups require close nurturing.

"Wrapping them up is to simply make them feel secure and they tend to fall asleep faster after being bottle fed," Cox told The Huffington Post. "They are similar to human babies in that they will have a lot of naps and feed times."

Cox said a few hundred were currently in the clinic's care after the "heat event."

According to the Northern Star newspaper, temperatures in Casino, Australia, climbed above 111 degrees in mid-November, killing thousands of bats.

The bats in the facility's care will be released into the wild when they are old enough, according to the YouTube description from Wakaleo and the clinic.

The clinic has rescued bats en masse before after severe natural occurrences.
