Model Jesinta Campbell has posted a heartfelt tribute to her fiance Buddy Franklin in her first public statement since the Sydney Swans star withdrew from the AFL finals.

The Swans announced on Tuesday that Franklin would be sidelined indefinitely to deal with a mental health condition. The club later revealed that, in response to media reports, Franklin also has mild epilepsy -- unrelated to his mental illness.

Campbell has been working in Japan for the TV show Getaway while Franklin seeks help for his condition.

On Thursday she posted a quote -- "fighters fight" -- on her Instagram account, accompanied by a touching message that thanked her fans for their support of her and Franklin.

"I would like to thank everyone for the support both Bud and I have received over the past few days," Campbell wrote.

"I am incredibly proud of Bud's strength and courage, this has not been an easy journey.

"My heart is with my man."
