Ellie Goulding knows how to deliver a hit -- she's had a few on the music charts during the past 18 months.
So when it came to being accused of lip syncing at the MCG during the AFL pre-match entertainment, she was ready.
When it appeared Goulding couldn't match the opening lyrics of her first song with the backing vocals and live music -- Twitter lit up with lip syncing accusations.

Goulding started singing her hit song Love Me Like You Do from the movie 50 Shades of Grey, but the British pop sensation missed the precise moment to start singing successfully over the backing track.
Omg I feel so sorry for Ellie Goulding right now. This is so awkward. AFL you need to up the budget on the GF entertainment....— Harriet13 (@harriet_hhh) October 3, 2015
The Channel 7 feed also looked to have been struggling to receive the live music from the performing music act.
Subsequently, fans waited for something to happen alongside the quiet background music behind Goulding’s track.
Goulding's first defence was to acknowledge it resembled a lip sync but insist it wasn't, then thank the Twittersphere for thinking just that.
