CANBERRA -- Former Prime Minister John Howard is renowned for a quite a few things during his time in office, such as gun control, leadership and longevity.

Those a little physically closer to Howard, including his former bodyguards, can’t forget his fondness and aptitude for a good strong walk.

The national science and technology centre, Questacon, is celebrating the former Prime Minister’s enthusiastic daily pursuit with a science based, 'John Howard Walk of Wonder'.

Being launched today by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, the Walk of Wonder is a free smart phone app which points to 19 points of scientific interest hidden in gardens and national monuments around the Parliamentary Triangle in Canberra.

The audio tour is not actually given by Howard, rather it is a tribute to his commitment to Questacon, as a national scientific institution.
