CANBERRA -- A relaxed Tony Abbott has been greeted by supporters as he made his first appearance in the House of Representatives chamber since being deposed as Prime Minister.

Abbott, who has still not decided whether or not he will stay in parliament, turned up to question time for the first time since being ousted by Malcolm Turnbull just under a month ago.

Now just the Member for Warringah, he was seated two rows from the nosebleeds and next to former Treasurer Joe Hockey, while the former Defence Minister Kevin Andrews sat just across the aisle.

He quietly smiled with his head down in paperwork as Turnbull and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten spent the first question trading barbs about the former Prime Minister’s legacy.

Abbott has declared, that at 57 years of age, he is too young to retire and has more to give public life.
