Fans of The Simpsons argue over many things -- the best chalkboard gag, the most iconic couch scene, Homer's best quote, our favourite minor character, at what season the quality truly started dropping and whether the new seasons are even worth watching -- but there's one thing nobody can deny.

The Australian episode was one of the greatest of all time.

Bart collect-calling Australia, "the boot," kangaroos and knifey-spoony -- it's timeless.

And now, some great patriot/Simpsons fan has done the most obvious thing in the world, starting a petition to officially the change the name of Australia's currency from "dollars" to "dollarydoos".

"The Australian economy is struggling. That's why we need something to stimulate the Australian economy and that something is changing the name of the Australian currency to 'Dollarydoos'. This will make millions of people around the world want to get their hands on some Australian currency due to the real life Simpsons reference, driving up the value of the Australian currency," wrote Thomas Probst on his change.org petition.

"If the leaders of this great nation have any common sense at all, they will introduce legislation to parliament to change the name of our currency as soon as possible. So please sign this petition to get our nations leaders to finally act on this important issue."

As of time of writing, the petition has 3950 signatures, with a goal of 5000. The next step? Taking this to your local member of parliament --- or maybe even straight to the prime minister himself.
