In a morning of mixed messages new St Kilda recruit Jake Carlisle has now admitted he is the person featured in a video, showing a man snorting white powder, which went public on the Nine Network yesterday.
Carlisle initially denied any involvement with illicit drugs, but has since admitted he is the person shown.
He has apologised to his new club and all those associated with the club and has said he expects to face sanctions when he returns from holidays.
The apology made reference to "poor decision making" but did not go into specifics about the incident.
Carlisle, 24, is due to return to Australia in the next few weeks and will face his new club and team mates.
Carlisle's manager Anthony McConville was reportedly contacted on Tuesday by the Nine Network's 'A Current Affair' program about the video but did not disclose that information to St Kilda until after the trade deal was complete on Wednesday. St Kilda Football Club has said it will be investigating this matter.
