Google's New Nexus Phone Lets You GIF Yourself

Google's New Nexus Phone Lets You GIF Yourself

With Apple’s 6S device already out, Google have responded with two new handsets which will operate off the freshly updated Android software, “Marshmallow” -- giving Android’s personal assistant, Google Now, increased powers to explore your requests in depth, as well as the ability to GIF yourself/cat/grandparents -- or whomever you wish thanks to the Google camera app.

The new handsets, Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X will be available from November 3 and also boast Google Photos -- the photo app which, much like Apple’s new software, stores and organises images neatly by grouping them into categories (selfies, sunsets, beaches etc.).

It also puts an end to the menial scrolling that comes with searching for a specific photo by automatically tagging key information like time, date and location. So, just as we can search specifics in Google Images, Google is applying the feature to our phones.

But perhaps the most entertaining feature is the ability to “GIF” yourself with the 6P's 4K video and Smart Burst feature -- which is great for capturing action shots, like kids playing sport -- or unpredictable subjects like pets.

Simply hold down the shutter button and Smart Burst will analyse the best 8 from 30 shots taken each second -- the result being a GIF of your very own.

Bow chicka wow wow.
