Hailing from Merredin, a small town in Western Australia, Aussie model Nicole Trunfio has come along way from her start when she was crowned winner of Australian television series "Supermodel Of Australia" in 2002.

Since then she has walked for designers such as Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Christian Dior, Gucci and Fendi, though arguably one of Trunfio's greatest achievements is her adorable son Zion with long time boyfriend Gary Clark Jr, who she proudly showed to the world on the June 2015 cover of Australian Elle magazine.

Not satisfied with modeling alone, Trunfio has also attended NIDA, and most recently has launched her own collection of fine jewellery -- Trunfio Universe. She spoke to The Huffington Post Australia about her precious metals.

How did the Trunfio Universe collection come about?

“The Trunfio Universe jewellery collection is something that I have been working on for a really long time. I wanted to create a zodiacsign jewellery brand that was true luxury brand. I’ve worked with so many luxury brands throughout my career and because of that I didn't want to compromise on quality. I really wanted to make a brand that represents who I am and the kind of lifestyle I have. I feel as though the brand is valuable, really high quality and will stand the test of time to be passed down through generations within families.

The jewellery is very sentimental, every piece has a lot of meaning and depth behind it. It is intended to be empowering for the wearer because of our brand mantra which is 'once you make decision the universe conspires to make it happen', which is a Ralph Waldo Emerson quote. I strongly believe in the law of attraction and the power of manifestation and visualisation. I feel like it's the perfect time to launch because society is so conscious of these these concepts now.”

What was your first piece of jewellery?

“The first piece of meaningful jewellery I had was my charm bracelet. My mum bought it for me when I was really young and every few months, if I was good, she would buy me a new little charm to put on it. I collected musical notes, a ballet slipper, a dice, a ballerina and an angel. I really love it and still have it now -- it's in pieces but I still treasure it.”

Can you tell us about the hero piece from the collection?

"The Universe Bracelet is a collectible because the bracelet itself and the pyramid come as separate pieces. I really urge people to get their favourite mantra, quote or saying they live buy inscribed on the inner face of the bracelet, so when you wind the pyramid into the bracelet to lock it, it's a time of self reflection to remember that mantra or quote. It's a small reminder of why we're here and what our goals and dreams are. Vogue called it "the new charm bracelet" which I thought was very cool."

You obviously believe strongly in the zodiac. What sign are you?

"I’m a pisces, which is why the first piece from the collection is a pisces. We have sold the pisces ring to so many people who aren't that sign simple because they love the design -- it looks like two hearts. There are three parts to your star sign -- you have your rising, sun and moon sign -- so there are lots of elements that make up a character of a person. I don't know if I am a true pisces, though I definitely have some of the attributes."

What is your favourite metal?

“I love yellow gold. It complements my skintone more than anything else. I think that rose gold is really beautiful and I love platinum, but I think that yellow gold is just so very classic. I think it's best to choose the type of metal according to your skin tone.”
