Snail Horror Comedy Is A Thing Thanks To A Few NZ Students

Here's a genre you didn't know existed -- snail horror comedy.

Escargore is a horrifically funny short film about five snails who set-off on a mission to get from a salad bowl back to the garden.

As we all know though, there are many hazards lying around the average suburban kitchen. Especially for tiny indefensible snails.

Dodging blenders, knives and microwaves -- how many make it out alive?

Created by a group of 22 final year students at New Zealand's Media Design School, it's both funny and impressive work.

And although the characters are animated it's still not one for squeamish viewers.
