There's only one thing better than late-night ice cream runs to Gelato Messina -- when the store comes to you.
As of Friday, the gelato maker is delivering to homes and workplaces in Sydney and Melbourne.
Coowner Declan Lee said they'd wanted to do it for years and had partnered with deliverer Suppertime.
"As you can imagine, with ice cream it’s a risky game for us to enter into the delivery space, so we need a good delivery partner who is already well established in this market," Lee said in a statement.
“It’s been a long courting period with Suppertime! I think we’ve been engaged in delivery foreplay for about two to three years. It feels like we’re about to give birth to a big ice cream baby."
Initially, deliveries will operate from six Messina stores including Bondi, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, The Star, Fitzroy, Richmond and Windsor store.
