It’s become a part of our everyday life whether we like it or not -- and now Facebook users will be able to video stream every single moment of their exciting life in real time -- for all their friends to see.
As of Friday the social network will unveil live video sharing to some of its U.S. users -- a feature that has only been available to celebrities up until now.
So how does it work? In a similar way to Periscope you’ll see live viewers and a stream of real-time comments as you’re recording. Once you are done, it will appear on your timeline (unless you delete it, which we suspect might be the case post-Saturday night).
Facebook has also released another function -- photo collage sharing which graduates from single and photo album sharing to grouping your recent moments together in a collage which you can then add, rearrange and remove.
Simply tap on the photo option when posting a status update and you’ll see the option to share the “whole story” then simply give your collage a title.
Collages are available for iOS users as of Friday simply by updating the Facebook app.
The function will be rolled out to Android users early next year.
