LeBron James Injures Jason Day's Wife Ellie In Sideline Accident

Ellie Harvey, wife of Australia's top golfer Jason Day, has been transported to hospital after a bizarre and frightening incident involving basketball behemoth LeBron James.

Day and Ellie Harvey have a house in Columbus, Ohio. They often travel to nearby Cleveland to watch Cleveland Cavaliers NBA games featuring LeBron James.

Harvey was sitting on the sideline beside her husband when the incident occurred in the Thursday night encounter against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

James was trying to keep the ball from going out, but in so doing crashed into a row of temporary seats, landing almost directly on top of Harvey who tumbled dramatically to the ground.

Harvey left the arena on a stretcher with her neck in a brace, and appeared to be speaking as she was stretchered away.

LeBron James is 203cm tall and weights 113 kg. He is widely regarded as the best player in the NBA.

Jason Day is the world's number two ranked golfer, who reached number one briefly in 2015 after winning the PGA Championship, his first major. He married Ohio native Ellie Harvey in 2009 and the couple has two children.

Here's a rough visual breakdown of how the incident unfolded:
