Either way this pic of Jarryd Hayne in conversation with Roosters coach Trent Robinson has set the rumour mill into overdrive.
Although, in fairness, maybe it's nothing.
Regardless, Hayne's U.S. future is uncertain since the San Francisco 49ers fired popular head coach Jim Tomsula amid fears Hayne may be next.
The photo was reportedly taken last week in Sydney's CBD on the eve of the Liverpool Legends match against the Socceroos legends at ANZ Stadium.
Hayne's initial U.S. success -- which arguably peaked in the pre-season -- dropped off sharply as the ex-NRL star first got the fumbles, then looked a little lost in some of the defensive intricacies of American football.
The focus now is on whether Hayne can keep learning the technical aspects of the game between now and August 2016.
