Lettuce be honest -- there is no better small talk than a salad discussion.
Or at least that's the topic Bill Shorten chose to broach with shoppers at a grocery store in Queanbeyan.
The Opposition Leader stepped out in the New South Wales town to give his first press conference for the year in which he challenged Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to a National Press Club debate on the GST.
Shorten couldn't help adding another awkward string to his bow, asking a local shopper her preferred lettuce type.
In November the Opposition Leader's dance moves had him trending on social media, as he took a moment during his South Pacific trip to get into the swing of things with locals at Kiribati.
But then again, Shorten has never been our garden variety Opposition Leader.
