While staying in a traditional hotel is quickly being replaced with innovative and more economical ways to travel thanks to things like Airbnb, the luxury of pulling up a pew, ordering a martini and enjoying the grandeur surroundings of a hotel lobby is hard to replace.

But who says you have to miss out just because you’ve opted for cheaper accommodation over the Hilton? Here, HuffPost Australia lists the best hotels for a pre (or post) dinner drink, whether you’ve booked a bed for the night or not.

After all, there’s something international and lavish about a late night tipple. Chin chin!
