Australia is a modern, sophisticated, cosmopolitan country. We invented wi-fi, Sydney is a truly global city and we're a member nation of the G20.
But sometimes Australia is just Australia. The massive-crocodiles-fighting, kangaroos-having sex-in-the-Outback, giant-spiders-in-the-loungeroom Australia.
In the case of this story, Australia is definitely just Australia.
A Facebook post by Snake Catchers Adelaide -- again, that's Snake Catchers Adelaide -- has gone viral after a woman discovered a deadly brown snake just chilling under her fridge.
That's true. You don't see that everyday.
Not only was her uninvited house guest in Moana, south of Adelaide, a poisonous reptile, but it was pregnant. PREGNANT. Can you imagine what could have happened if the snake had remained well hidden under the vegetable crisper?
Snakes. Everywhere.
Thankfully, and pretty bloody obviously, she immediately called a snake catcher to deal with the, you know, situation.
The good news is the woman is safe and the snake was taken good care of. It even went on to lay 14 eggs.
Who ever said terrifying merchants of death couldn't find their Happily Ever After?
