When Nigella Lawson Visits Your Home And Cooks In Your Kitchen

That Time Nigella Lawson Cooked Thai Noodles In Lisa Wilkinson's Kitchen

It’s not every day you get to potter around the kitchen with Nigella Lawson -- and when it happens to be in your own home, it’s understandably a big deal.

For HuffPost Australia’s editor-at-large Lisa Wilkinson, that was a reality last week as the international food writer, broadcaster and universal cooking queen brought her skills into Wilkinson’s kitchen.

The recipe of choice was Thai noodles with cinnamon and prawns -- a dish Lawson fell for while travelling in Thailand, which she then went on to feature in her latest book, Simply Nigella: Feel Good Food.

“The recipe belongs to an incredibly talented chef called Tum. I would ask him to make it for me every day,” Lawson told HuffPost Australia.

But she didn't just ask Tum for the recipe. Instead, she took her iPhone and filmed him making it.

"This way I could actually see what he did naturally without him trying to perhaps make it more palatable to what he thought would be a Western taste," Lawson said.

While one could happily sit and watch Lawson talk about food for eons (the sultriness is as alluring as you’d imagine in real life) watching her behind the stove with that classic nonchalant Nigella wit, in your kitchen no less, is simply quite glorious.

Bon appétit.

This is the first course in a six-week HuffPost Australia degustation feast of Nigella in Lisa's kitchen.
