The Passion Of A Runner: Even After A Heart Transplant This Man Will Run Over 100km

Even After A Heart Transplant This Man Will Run Over 100km

Adam Briggs is passionate about running. Long distances, too. Something like 106km, over 42 mountain peaks in under 24 hours.

That's the current race he's training for.

But Brigg's story isn't your standard runner's story. He was born a blue baby and required a heart transplant early on.

"Since birth there's always been something to fight against," he said.

"I think all together I've had about 65 surgeries,"

Despite his ill health, Briggs fell in love with mountain running. Situated in the Lake District of Northern England he's out often battling the elements.

"You never regret a run, that's the thing."

Inspired by his donor, he wants to make his life mean something.

And by running through the mountains he knows he's doing something with his life that his donor didn't have the chance to pursue.

In this short film, Life on the Fells, that passion Adam Briggs has is something echoed by many others who have fallen in love with not only running but also the great outdoors.

Created by James Stevens of JEGS Media, you can see more from the filmmaker over here.
