Beyoncé Slays Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show (And Coldplay Was There Too)

It's all about Beyoncé.

Coldplay might have been the official headliner of the Pepsi Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show, but on Sunday it was all about Beyoncé.

The score was 13-7 in favor of the Denver Broncos as the British rockers took the stage at Levi's Stadium, opening their set with "Viva La Vida" off of their 2008 album "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends." The band also performed "Paradise" and "Adventure of a Lifetime."

Weeks before the show, frontman Chris Martin told Entertainment Tonight that the band viewed the halftime show as "the greatest moment of our band's life." We're inclined to agree, since it's not every day one gets to perform alongside Beyoncé.

The singer, who headlined the 2013 halftime show, surprised everyone ahead of the game on Saturday when she dropped the video for her new song, "Formation." Good thing we had a whole day to prepare -- she totally slayed during its first live performance, which just happened to be during her halftime show appearance.

Together, Beyoncé, Coldplay and 2014 headliner Bruno Mars got the crowd moving as they as they all sang "Uptown Funk," and Beyonce also joined the band in singing a few lines from Coldplay's hit "Fix You."

The announcement that Coldplay would headline this year's show wasn't particularly well-received, as many worried the band's music was too mellow and weepy for the gig. However, the confirmation that Beyoncé and Bruno Mars would return to the stage seemed to somewhat assuage those fears.

Last year's halftime show featured Katy Perry as headliner and was the most-watched performance ever.

UPDATE: And we can all forget about the Super Bowl now, because Beyoncé announced her Formation World Tour:
