Heaps awkward, right?

Tony Abbott made the joke during a speech about outgoing Deputy PM Warren Truss on Thursday, Daily Mail Australia reports.

That's right.

Tony Abbott, the former prime minister, made a bad joke about wet dreams. No one laughed. This is like the onion thing all over again.

Australia's newest Deputy Prime Minister, Barnaby Joyce, has said his new role is an "awesome responsibility."

As agriculture minister Joyce made world headlines when he threatened to have actor Johnny Depp's dogs killed after the actor brought them into the country without the proper customs checks.

But back to Abbott. Here it is again. Let that sink in.
