Malcolm Turnbull has used his first Valentine's Day as Prime Minister to post a swoon-worthy Facebook tribute to his darling wife Lucy.
Turnbull's Feburary 14 nod to the love of his life was short and sweet, accompanied by an adorable photo of the Turnbulls as a young couple.
The pair of them are pictured lying arm in arm on a couch and smiling for the camera; Malcolm slinking back into the embrace of his wife.
The accompanying caption reads:
When I first asked Lucy to marry me she said, "Let's wait until we grow up." Well we didn't wait long and now it is almost impossible to imagine, let alone remember, what it was like not to be together, so much so that I have a much clearer sense of "Lucy and me" than I do of "me".
The Member for Wentworth's heartfelt post went down well with supporters, garnering nearly 20,000 Likes by early Sunday afternoon.
But not everyone was a fan; the top comment, supported by more than 1500 Likes, took a swipe at Turnbull and the Liberal Party's position on same-sex marriage.
Tomas Allan Leaumont wrote: "Well because of you and your party I will never know what it will be like to marry my partner of nearly 10 years. So happy for you both."
On the topic of political backlash, NSW Premier Mike Baird emerged from a week of turmoil surrounding the controversial Sydney lockout laws with a heartwarming Valentine's Day tribute of his own.
You GUYS.
