If you played a game of word association two years ago, chances are when given the name “Kylie” you’d answer “Minogue".
But according to Kylie Jenner, the youngest reality star of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians", the princess of pop should no longer feel so lucky.
Why? Because the 18-year-old doesn't want Minogue -- or anyone else for that matter -- trading off the first name “Kylie”. As in, nobody else can make money off that name except Jenner. Like, EVER.
According to TMZ, in May last year Jenner filed an application to trademark her first name to "entertainment in the nature of providing information by means of a global computer network in the fields of entertainment, fashion and pop culture."
But it seems Minogue is not having it.
According to the Mirror, Minogue has filed a court notice to formally oppose Jenner from trademarking the name “Kylie”, describing Jenner as "a secondary reality television personality who appeared on the television series Keeping Up With the Kardashians as a supporting character."
The “Spinning Around” singer already owns various trademarks including the name “Kylie” as well as the domain name kylie.com.
On Sunday night, the 47-year-old posted to Twitter what we can only describe as a cheeky territory mark.
“Hello..... My name is KYLIE #lightyears," he wrote.
It all seems a bit silly really. And we are certain Kylie Mole, Kylie Kwong and Kylie Gillies would have a lot to say on the matter.
