Canberra -- it’s Australia’s capital city, home to our federal politicians, the Australian War Memorial and the National Portrait Gallery.

Let's be honest though, for many it's not the most exciting city in Australia or on a lot of people's list of places to visit (unless you're a school student... and then your teachers force you to go).

However, this hasn't stopped Canberrans from using their city as inspiration to show the rest of the world that it could've been the backdrop to a lot of Hollywood blockbusters through the use of #CanberraMovies on Twitter over the last few days.

Unlike Compton, Barton hasn't been the birthplace of many hip hop groups (that we know of), but it is home to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, which is just as cool.

Lets be honest, Leonardo DiCaprio probably would've won an Oscar a lot sooner if he'd appeared in this movie.

Move over Frank Underwood...

It's about time the designer and architect behind Canberra got his own movie.

The outspoken independent senator for Tasmania once asked a radio caller if he was "well hung".

No explanation needed.
