Just when you thought you couldn’t love her any more, Margot Robbie goes and plays Jimmy Fallon’s Whisper Challenge and completely shows him up on his terrible Aussie accent.
The game? Celebrity guest is handed a set of noise-cancelling headphones. Fallon reads out a phrase and then celebrity guest has to guess what he’s saying.
Simple enough.
But Fallon doesn’t exactly make it easy for the actress, with his mispronunciation of Bondi Beach at one point (“Bond-y Beach”) giving Aussie viewers an equally cringe-worthy and satisfying sense of hope for underdog Robbie, who is laughing her way through (“I’m getting worse, I know!”).
“Ohh, Bondi Beach!” Robbie corrects him.
All Australians know there'll only ever be one Bondy, and he would never have taken his tiger skin to the beach.
With phrases like “labradoodle” and “fuggedaboutit” Robbie mostly fails throughout the rest of the segment. But she handles it like a total pro and you can't help but cheer when she finally gets one right.
