Get ready, Eurovision 2016 -- X Factor winner Dami Im has just been named to represent Australia in the famous song contest held in Sweden this May.

The announcement was made on Thursday night at the Sydney Opera House by former Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst, alongside 2015 Eurovision contestant Guy Sebastian.

Im’s Eurovision announcement was met by a long stream of supportive cheers, with a fan shouting, “We love you Dami!”

Im then took to the piano to perform Waterloo by ABBA, showing everyone the reason why she won X Factor Australia in 2013.

Im finished her performance by thanking Conchita Wurst, her fans and Eurovision host SBS.

"Watch out Sweden, the Aussies are coming," Im said.
