Don't you hate those people who are genetically blessed but then also super nice and down to earth? Aussie model Elyse Taylor is one of them. She's unassuming, accomplished, kind and bloody gorgeous.

In Australia this week to launch some products with cosmetic company Nude by Nature (of which she is the face and is the number one selling foundation in Priceline nationally), Taylor told The Huffington Post Australia that she quite likes flying under the radar at times.

"As well as working with Nude by Nature I've just shot for Milea which is an Australian swimwear brand. I've been working closely with Bonds for the past 10 years, I just recently shot their new activewear range. I became a mum and got married fairly recently, which I guess is a big deal, so I have been around but I feel like I still fly under the radar a bit. I feel like a go away and then come back and then disappear again, which is nice to not always be in the spotlight," Taylor said.

Modelling since the age of 18, Taylor is thankful she is still in the game over a decade later.

"It's been a whirlwind really! It's been 11 years now and you never think that your career [as a model] is going to last that long. Back then I didn't think I would be modelling over the age of 25. To be almost 30 now, I feel very thankful and fortunate to still be doing it."

Though she's well known for her work with quite a few commercial brands, arguably her biggest gig was back in 2019 when she walked for Victoria's Secret.

"For me it was a once in a lifestyle opportunity and to be in a show of that kind of size and grandeur was crazy. I was terrified before the show! Although when it is finished you're so pumped. What a lot of people don't realise is that we do the show twice. Because it's all filmed, they do one set, then the second time around they get most of the shots because we're much more relaxed and our guards are down," said Taylor.

"I also did the commercials and worked for the catalog. They are a family orientated company, they feel like a big family. Even when I had [my daughter] Lila I received presents from the company and I am still in contact with the girls now and we have play dates so they are still very much in my life."

Speaking of her daughter, Taylor revealed that her approach to style and beauty has changed since she has become a mother.

"In terms of style I like to keep it casual and classic. I love Levi’s and a top, but I am a mum so it needs to be functional. Because I am bending over to pick up my daughter, so no more short skirts! I’m all about classic functionality."

"In terms of makeup I work all the time and my skin cops a bashing so if I am not working or I have some downtime I like to keep it really minimal and clean and natural. A bit of mascara and foundation is usually all I use. If I wear too much makeup on my off days I will break out. I was attracted to working with Nude by Nature because their products are 100 percent cruelty free and have no synthetic ingredients or preservatives. As a mum it's really important because Lila is always in my makeup kit and running off with brushes and makeup, so it's one less thing I have to worry about," Taylor said.

Although she needs no help at all, Taylor has picked up a few tricks from the makeup pros after countless sessions in the chair.

"I’ve learned little makeup tips here and there from being in the industry. Like if I am doing a smokey eye I will put my foundation on afterwards so that the fallen shadow under my eye doesn't ruin my base. I always curl my lashes before I apply mascara. And I love hightling -- I highlight the bridge of my nose, the brow bone and the cheekbones. I'm always trying to go for that sunkissed beach look."

"My hair also cops a bashing, it's always falling out! I have been blonde for forever so I try to be very 'wash and go' and keep it natural to minimise the damage. Often I will use an Olaplex mask which is heavily conditioning," Taylor said.
