Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Inspector Lew Strohfeldt said Reynolds suffered “a number of stab wounds” and was deceased when detectives arrived at the scene.

Reynolds' partner, Wayne Ashley O’Sullivan, was located in the area hours later and assisted detectives in the investigation.
