Is there anything better than an Aussie mate?
Well Thomas The Tank Engine is about to discover exactly what a top bloke is when “Shane the Train” makes his silver screen debut in the animated film, "Thomas & Friends: The Great Race" released next month.
Shane, a fun-loving, carefree green and gold engine is based on a real life locomotive that rolled out of a South Australian workshop in 1944.
But it’s not just Shane joining the rail yard.
According to reports, 12 other trains hailing from places like India, Brazil and Mexico will join Thomas’ gang including four female engines.
While a voiceover actor hasn’t yet been announced, HuffPost Australia reckons Eric Bana, Eddie Prefect, Hughesy -- or even a Hemsworth are more than capable of unearthing a beaut “Shane-O” dialect. And of course, they could just approach the original Aussie Shane -- Warney.
Get ready, world -- ‘cos Shane the Train is coming.
Thomas & Friends: The Great Race will begin releasing internationally next month.
