Eurovision 2016 is heating up.

Not only will Australia's favourite runner-up, Shannon Noll, be on the judging panel but Justin Timberlake will make history by becoming the first "non-contestant global superstar" to perform at the competition taking place this weekend.

It will be the second time Australia competes, with X-Factor winner Dami Im following in Guy Sebastian's footsteps when she performs her track 'Sound Of Silence' in Stockholm.

Also sitting on the Australian jury will be Monica Trapaga, who is best known for her work on Playschool, Craig Porteils James Mathison and Myf Warhurst.

The voting method asks the public to vote for their favourite songs in the semi-final that their country competes in and the grand final, making up 50 percent of the total vote.

The other 50 percent is decided by the National Jury assembled in each participating country.

The competition will also make its debut on American television this year.

Following the finalists performances, Timberlake will perform his new track "Can't Stop The Feeling" which was co-written by Swedish music producers Max Martin and Shellback.

"This is a fantastic opportunity, we are very happy and excited that Justin Timberlake will perform his new song together with his band in our show," Sven Stojanovic, Eurovision 2016 producer said in a statement.

"It makes it extra special that the Swedish songwriters Max Martin and Shellback have co-written and co-produced the song together with Justin Timberlake," Stojanovic said.

We can only hope Nollsie and JT get some face time. Anyone else feeling a "What About Me-Cry Me A River" mash-up?
