She thinks he was born with a silver spoon in a very uncomfortable place.

Maybe they do things differently in Tassie.

Tasmanian senator Jacqui Lambie has hit out at conservative Liberal senator Cory Bernardi on national television, and in an attempt to portray him as elitist and out-of-touch, may have instead afflicted him with a life-long injury.

Instead of saying he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, Lambie told ABC's Kitchen Cabinet he had a "born with a silver spoon up my rear end" attitude.

Ouch.

Continuing the rectal theme, Lambie also called him an "arsehole".

The former soldier told host Annabel Crabb she never shied from taking a swing at men in the army when she needed to stand up for herself.

And while that hasn't been necessary in the senate, Bernardi apparently has left her sorely tempted.

"There's been a couple of times where I've thought about jumping out of my seat and going across the floor," Lambie said.

Crabb asked who her first victim would be.

"Bernardi. He's just an arsehole. Typical 'Hello, I'm born with a silver spoon up my rear end'," she said.

"I really hate that attitude."

Bernardi has yet to publicly respond.

Lambie, also wants Tasmania's parliamentary representation to be halved, with the number of senate seats to be slashed from 12 to six.

She joked it was the sheer size of her extended family -- her mother has 19 siblings -- that got her the votes to win her seat.

"How do you think I won my seat? We're all related down here in Tasmania," she said.
