Celebrities We Swear Were Married For Three Seconds

In case you haven't heard, Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny Depptwo seconds 15 months after the couple tied the knot on Depp's private island in the Bahamas.

The actress, arguably better known for her dog smuggling antics than her film career, cited 'irreconcilable differences' before requesting spousal support (the pair did not sign a prenuptial agreement).

Oh, and all this took place three days after the death of Depp's beloved mother Betty Sue.

While this is no doubt a rough blow to Depp (the actor has since issued a short statement via a representative highlighting the "brevity" of the marriage), it's unfortunately not uncommon for a Hollywood marriage to hit the rocks seemingly moments after the besotted couple said 'I do'.

For example...

One of the better-known 'quickie' Hollywood marriages, reality queen Kim Kardashian wed the basketball star in 2011 only to file for divorce 72 days later.

Her change of heart seemed to come as a surprise to Humphries, who issued a statement at the time saying "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."

Kardashian is now married to rapper Kanye West, with two children, daughter North and son Saint.

Ooph. Not only did the union between Katy and Russell last only 14 months, the British comedian apparently called things off via text message.

"He hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce," Perry told The Daily Telegraph in 2015.

Before you start feeling too bad, though, both parties have since moved on.

Brand is currently dating Laura Gallacher while Perry has recently gone public with her beau Orlando Bloom.

This blink-and-you'll-miss-it marriage between the 'Blue Bloods' actress and 'American Hustle' star lasted only five months, with the couple calling it off in May 2007.

Of their split, Cooper has said: "It was just something that happened. The good thing is, we both realised it... Sometimes you just realise it. It just wasn't right. It's interesting... Things happen!"

Esposito has since referred to Cooper as "a master manipulator" with a "mean, cold side".

Elisabeth Moss and Fred Armisen

Golden Globe winner and 'Mad Men' star Elisabeth Moss doesn't have too many positive things to say about her eight-month union to 'Saturday Night Live' performer Fred Armisen.

"It was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible," she told New York Magazine in 2014.

"At the same time, it turned out for the best. I'm glad that I'm not there. I'm glad that it didn't happen when I was 50. I'm glad I didn't have kids. And I got that out of the way. Hopefully. Like, that's probably not going to happen again."

Elyse Taylor and Seth Campbell

In recent news, Aussie model Elyse Taylor and her husband Seth Campbell have apparently parted ways after tying the knot in August 2014 in the U.S.

According to The Daily Mail Australia, the couple separated months ago, though remain on amicable terms for the sake of their two-year-old daughter Lila.

In a move which appears to indicate not all is well between the two, Taylor has taken down all photos of Campbell on her Instagram account.

At the time of writing, neither party had confirmed or denied the split.

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander

This infamous 55-hour Las Vegas stint began -- and ended -- on New Year's Eve, 2004.

Alexander, who was a childhood friend of Spears', flew to Las Vegas at her request (the pop star sent a private jet) thinking he would just "have a good time".

But Spears apparently had other arrangements in mind, suggesting the pair should wed.

After tying the knot at The Little White Wedding Chapel, the newlyweds apparently went to share the news with Britney's mother and her managers, who collectively freaked out (Spears had not thought to ask Alexander to sign a prenup.)

The marriage was annulled hours later, and Alexander flew home in economy class.
