One Thing You Missed On 'Game Of Thrones' Hints At A Major Death

We know winter is coming on "Game of Thrones" because nobody will ever shut up about it. Other things are more subtle.

In Sunday's episode, "Blood of my Blood," we saw Margaery Tyrell thwart her walk of atonement by supposedly forming a new alliance with Tommen between the crown and the faith. Damn you, High Sparrow! This came as a shock to the audience, Margaery's grandmother Olenna Tyrell, and Jaime Lannister, who wasted a perfectly baller entrance by riding his horse up the steps.

(Maybe next time, bruh.)

But wait, in a previous Season 6 episode, we saw a scene where Margaery tried to convince her co-convict brother Loras to fight against the Sparrows. Has the queen really flipped to the High Sparrow's side that quickly?

Not a chance.

It's perhaps clear to anyone watching that Margaery's up to something. And, as Reddit points out, there's a scene from Season 4 that seems to confirm that:

In the scene, Olenna is helping Margaery choose jewelry for her wedding to Joffrey, and the soon-to-be queen makes a quip about wearing a necklace of "dead sparrow heads" that seems to hint at what's coming.

"Game of Thrones" has a history of subtle foreshadowing that's always mind-blowing when discovered, including that time Littlefinger hinted at the death of Tywin Lannister by saying people die "squatting over their chamber pots." This line about sparrow heads doesn't seem to be any different.

You do not want to be the High Sparrow right now.

Of course, "GoT" hints also have us worried that Arya is in trouble. On Sunday's episode, the actress whom Arya is supposed to kill asks her if she likes pretending to be other people. Arya says, "I have to go. My father's waiting for me." Uhhhhh, you better not be joining dead Ned soon, Arya.

Let's not think about that, though. Yasss for dead sparrow heads, right? That's so morbid. But yasss!

"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
