Crash Bandicoot Is Getting A Reboot, Sony Confirms

Time to dust off your Aku-Aku masks.

Crash is stoked to be back.

Watch your back, Cortex. Crash Bandicoot is officially coming for you.

Sony announced the news during today's E3 proceedings in Los Angeles, while revealing they have partnered with Activision for the reboot. The original trilogy ('Crash Bandicoot', 'Crash Bandicoot 2,' and 'Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped') will be remastered for Playstation 4.

Speculation has been high since this cryptic tweet was shared by PlayStation's Middle Eastern account on February 7. The text loosely translates to 'Most Wanted... Where Are You Crash?'.

While the stress of Boulder Dash might still be fresh in the mind of Crash fans, the last time we saw the franchise was in 1999 when Naughty Dog gave us 'Crash Team Racing'. The more recent games were swiftly cancelled by Sony and no follow-up teasers have been shared by the brand, until today.

Sony also confirmed that Crash himself will make an appearance in the upcoming 'Skylanders: Imaginators,' due for release this October. No dates for the remastered games have been released.

Now please excuse us while we mentally prepare for dodging nitro crates and collecting wumpa fruit while riding a high-speed tiger.
