Podcasts. Until you've persevered through (and bragged about) a whole season of Serial, they're a hard medium to sell. But as so many have told you before, once you find a good podcast it truly gives you life (and the chance to enjoy public transport).
Like candy for your ears, a good podcast promises a never-boring commute, 20 minutes on the treadmill without even looking at the timer and the opportunity to actually enjoy preparing a home cooked meal.
Of course, a major factor of a good podcast is the host. And who better to judge such skills than someone whose day job it is to entertain on the airwaves. Ahead, the top podcast picks from some of Australia's radio presenters.

LISTEN IF YOU... LIKE GOOD CONVERSATION WITH (INTERESTING) FAMOUS PEOPLE
"I love a good conversation, and Alec gives good conversation. The man with the whiskey-soaked vocals also reveals himself to be a real all-rounder when it comes to cultural history (popular and otherwise), politics and everything else in between. You can tell he's talking to his guests because he has a genuine curiosity and hunger to understand what they do. Why else would he? He's Alec Baldwin. Being AB also means he has a lot of good contacts in his phone. The kinds of conversations he has, you just don't hear anywhere else. Lena Dunham, Chris Rock, Thom Yorke, Amy Schumer... the list is endless. I found out Jerry Seinfeld has been doing Transcendental Meditation since the 70's via this podcast, and discovered Alec's incredible abilities with impersonations on the Billy Joel episode. Amazing."
LISTEN IF YOU... LIKE ROMANCE, WITHOUT THE CHEESE FACTOR
"It's a New York Times column where people share their Modern Love Stories and they are read by well known actors, comics and personalities. It's like an adult, empowered version of Disney. It's also nice to hear stories of love from people ready to be completely vulnerable which always allows you to connect. It feels soothing and relaxing, like fairytales used to make me feel as a kid. Mothers that have given up children, the weird but special relationship people have with their doormen, friends who are in love but never hook up. The list goes on!"

LISTEN IF YOU... LIKE RADIO
"I'm a giant radio nerd...if I'm not on the radio, I'm listening to podcasts about radio! Craig Bruce has really in depth chats with some of the most respected people in the industry. They're really insightful podcasts and the production is great too!"

LISTEN IF YOU... WANT TO LEARN
"I don't get to hear it go live to air, so I seek it out as a podcast. It doesn't matter who he's interviewing, it's always insightful. If it's not quite your thing, I'm also loving a podcast called 'No such thing as a fish'. The researchers from Stephen Fry's QI program sit around and discuss the weird and perverse 'facts' they've discovered that week. It's brilliant and hilarious."
