Attention cross-fitters, this is not a drill: Ninja Warrior is coming to Australia.

The extreme Japanese fitness show has the impossible obstacles of Wipeout mixed with the rigor and pride of an Olympic event.

So basically, it's the best thing on TV.

Channel Nine confirmed it would soon recruit Australian ninjas for the show, and head of content Adrian Swift said our obstacle course would be better than the original, or the one in the U.S.

"It's the biggest and most impossible course in the world that will be tackled by everyday Australians who think they're fit, fast, nimble or hard enough to get to the finish," Swift said in a statement.

Ninja moves, he's got 'em.
Meanwhile in Japan, the show, which is called Sasuke, is up to its 31st season and has regular competitors who come back again and again to try and complete the course.

We're pumped.
