Right around the country, millions of Australians are exercising their democratic right to vote for Australia's leaders. We are lining up for up to an hour to cast our vote, to take part and have a say in the future of this country, keeping sustained on a diet of burnt sausages and white bread and homemade cakes and $2 cans of soft drink. It is a beautiful thing.

Then, there is this Australian hero.

Down at Bondi Beach, not even democracy can get in the way of a good dip in the ocean. This bloke wandered in, wearing naught but his red budgie smugglers and his thongs, and had his say in the future of this great nation.

The man was also captured from the front, having a great old time as he deposited his papers in the ballot box.

Elsewhere, in Malcolm Turnbull's Wentworth electorate, another guy exercised his democratic right to vote while wearing as little clothing as possible.

Also at Bondi, there was this cracker image as a surfer combined democracy with their trip to the beach to catch a wave.
