Woman Critical After Being Speared In Melbourne

She's fighting for her life in hospital.

A woman is in in a critical condition in hospital after being shot in the face with a spear gun in Melbourne.

Emergency crews rushed to the woman, aged in her 40s, in Melbourne's southeast at Hallam about 11.30pm on Saturday,

She was taken by ambulance to the Alfred Hospital, with "significant facial injuries," when the spear pierced through her cheek, accordig to 7 News.

A man, aged in his 40s is assisting police with their enquires, according to Channel 7

Police are yet to determine if the incident was a result of domestic assault or an accident

No charges have yet be made.
