Paris Hilton spoke with Diario de Ibiza on her worries about being a target of potential terrorist attacks as a person in the public eye.

Hilton was asked how she feels traveling in the wake of recent terrorist attacks around the world.

“It’s horrible everything that’s happening, the recent attacks in Nice and Germany are terrible, it’s disgusting and scary,” she told the publication for a story published Thursday. “They are things that cross my mind when I travel a lot, and when I think about that I get scared. I’m moving and traveling from one country to another. I’m a famous person that could be a clear target of an attack and it’s something that sometimes terrifies me.”

The former reality star and hotel heiress, who has had a DJ residency in Ibiza since 2013, refuses to live her life differently, however.

“I like to be free. I always go out alone and without security,” she said. “Lots of celebrities take 10 bodyguards. I like going out with my friends, be normal, I want to be like everyone else. I will not give up anything.” (For those wondering, a documentary of her “normal” life is currently in the works.)

After the attack in Nice, France, earlier this month, Hilton shared a heartfelt message for peace on Instagram.
