She proposed after the Australian women's rugby sevens team defeated New Zealand.

Brazilian rugby player Isadora Cerullo won gold at the Rio Olympics this year, despite the women's Brazilian rugby team finishing ninth.

Not long after our Australian squad defeated New Zealand (yeah, girls!) to win the first women's rugby sevens in Olympic history, Curullo stood in absolute shock as her girlfriend -- and a volunteer at the Games -- Marjorie Enya proposed on the field.

Enya took a microphone and delivered an emotional speech before Cerullo accepted the proposal.

I wanted to show people that love wins.

And the whole exchange was caught on camera.

Love wins.

Speaking to the BBC after the grand gesture, Enya said she wasn't nervous to pop the question in front of a crowd, and had the proposal planned since her girlfriend of two years was accepted into the rugby team.

"As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special," Enya said.

"I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it. She is the love of my life. I wanted to show people that love wins."
