If Leslie Jones’ fire Olympic tweets can score her a ticket to Rio de Janeiro from NBC, then Chrissy Teigen is long overdue for a guest spot on CNN for her consistently irreverent and on-point social media commentary this election season.
On Friday, Teigen (and the rest of Twitter) reacted to a post from the man made in Donald Trump’s image, his son Donald Trump Jr., after he tweeted a photo of himself and his siblings in an unfortunate attempt to court millennial voters.
“This is not a Republican vs Democrat election,” the caption read. “This is about an insider versus an outsider.”
Teigen not only swung at this softball, but batted it out of the park with a series of tweets taking issue with how the presidential candidate constantly bills himself as an “outsider” and why any voter would find these qualifications attractive in such an important election.
Husband John Legend even jumped in too to contribute the ever-so-relevant hashtag #neighborcarlforpresident.
But Teigen didn’t stop there. She started listing what an “outsider” president means to her ― someone who, for example, exists so far outside the system that he or she “puts foil wrapped potatoes in the microwave” just like the rest of us.
To reiterate, #neighborcarlforpresident.
