This year marks the Awards' 30th birthday celebrations.

It's been 30 years since Australia got its first taste of Neil Finn's sweet ballads and this November, the band will return to Sydney to be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame as part of its 30th birthday celebrations.

Since forming in Melbourne in 1986, the Don't Dream It's Over stars have won 13 ARIA Awards and sold over two million albums.

"We feel truly blessed that our songs have become a valued part of peoples lives across generations," Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, Crowded House founding members said in a statement.

We are delighted and honoured to accept the invitation to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.

"As a result, our affinity with fans and the music community here is unique and one we hold very close. We are delighted and honoured to accept the invitation to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame," Finn and Seymour said.

Their classic sound, which continues to transcend generations, is proof the recognition has been a long time coming.

It was only last year that Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande reminded the rest of the world of the band's relevance when they covered Don't Dream It's Over, temporarily breaking the internet with more than 40 million Youtube hits and counting.

Fans can watch the official broadcast of the 2016 ARIA Awards on Network TEN, November 23.
