Samsung's Australian arm wants consumers to power down their Galaxy Note 7 smartphones as soon as possible and return them amid a massive global recall.
The world's largest smartphone maker is scrambling to recall as many of the devices as possible following more reports of the phones catching fire.
Samsung Australia said it was working to fast-track replacement phones for impacted consumers.
"Our number one priority is the safety of our customers, which is why we've worked hard to provide new replacement Note7 devices as quickly as possible. We appreciate our customers' continued support as we start to deliver this new stock to operators and retailers around the country from September 21," Samsung Electronics Australia's Richard Fink said.
The South Korean company asked users to return their existing Galaxy Note 7 and get a safer version.
"Until a replacement device is provided, Samsung Australia reminds all customers who still have an affected Galaxy Note7 smartphone to back up their data, complete a factory reset to delete personal data, power down their device and return it to its place of purchase to seek remedy of their choice," the company said on its website.
The statement comes as authorities show particular concern about using the problematic devices on flights because of concerns they could explode.
Samsung recently recalled 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7s globally just a couple of weeks after the phone was launched.
