The Duchess of Cambridge Wore An Unexpected Dress And It Was Almost Perfect

There's just one tiny detail missing.

Prince William and his family have been in Canada just two days, and have already blessed the masses with a combination of cute kid moments and fashion favorites.

For their second day of engagements on Sunday, the media phenomenon formerly known as Kate Middleton absolutely slayed in an altered version of a printed, scalloped-edged Alexander McQueen dress.

Although Kate wears McQueen regularly, the bold look was more high-fashion than we’re used to seeing her in.

She even coordinated with fellow style icon Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, the wife of Canada’s prime minister.

It had all the makings of a royal home run, except for one minor detail. The dress as it was originally designed for McQueen’s resort 2017 collection was just plain cooler, with bigger, squared sleeves and a shorter hem.

We would have given our chance to high-five Justin Trudeau just to see Kate take a big, billowy-sleeved risk in the unedited version of the dress.

Still, we’re calling this look a win, and can’t wait to see what else the duchess has up her tighter, tailored sleeves.
