Just tasting a Carolina Reaper didn’t do it for Ted Barrus.

The YouTuber took his consumption of the world’s hottest chili pepper to the next level ― by ingesting it via a bong rip.

“You only live once, and this is the first time I’ve ever been scared to do something on YouTube,” Barrus, aka “The Fire Breathing Idiot,” says in a video.

He places a slice of the pepper inside the bong’s bowl, pulls two hits and immediately begins coughing and spluttering ― before desperately chugging down an inordinate amount of water.

The video is garnering tens of thousands of views online, but it’s definitely not the recommended way to ingest the Carolina Reaper — which has a terrifying 1,569,300 rating on the Scoville heat-measuring scale.
