This may be the coolest way ever to watch your favourite movie.

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra has announced it will be performing every note from the score of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone live, while screening the film at the same time.

The event is to take place at the Sydney Opera House over two nights and did we mention it will be serious wizardry goals?

If you've forgotten how great John Williams' film score is, fear not -- this short clip will transport you right back to your first trip to Hogwarts.

This will no doubt add another dimension to the much loved movie that came out in 2001 and was adapted from the 1997 J.K Rowling novel of the same name.

The spectacular will take place on April 27 and 28, 2017. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Saturday October 15.

So now you can go and re-watch all the films from the start, because well any excuse to watch Harry Potter, right?
