Michigan Billboard Blasts Donald Trump's Anti-Immigration Rhetoric

The message is the latest in a series posted by The Nuisance Committee.

A super PAC launched by the creators of Cards Against Humanity erected a new billboard denouncing Donald Trump this week.

The zeitgeisty card game’s political action group, The Nuisance Committee, paid for the large black and white message to be displayed in Dearborn, Michigan until Election Day on Nov. 8. The sign was erected along a major highway in the city and reads: “Donald Trump: He can’t read this, but he is afraid of it” in Arabic.

A URL, trumpisscared.org, directs the public to a website detailing the Republican presidential candidate’s anti-immigration stance.

Nuisance Committee spokeswoman Melissa Harris told the Detroit Free Press that the group chose to place the message in an area with a high population of Arab Americans, a community Trump has threatened with racial profiling.

“We came up with it because we believe that Donald Trump’s hateful rhetoric is not based on reality. It’s based in fear,” Harris said. “And we think that irrational fear is what’s driving his anti-immigrant message.”

Cards Against Humanity has been selling election-themed expansion packs to the popular game, with each sale going towards a tally for Trump or his rival, Hillary Clinton.

The group has used part of the profits to post other billboards ahead of the election, including one in Florida that urged young people to vote using a popular video game theme, and another in Illinois that questioned Trump’s refusal to release his tax returns.

While the company has raised more than $412,000 from the sales of both sets, the money won’t be equally divided.

“At the end of this promotion, Cards Against Humanity will tally up the sales of both packs, and depending on which pack gets more support, we will donate all the money in support of Hillary Clinton’s campaign,” a website for the set read.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
