If you need a reminder to stop, relax and assess how you're feeling, there'll be a mass wellbeing check on in Sydney today -- and there'll be therapy dogs.
The Mental Health Commission of NSW is taking a leaf out of the city of Philadelphia's successful 'check up from the neck up' program where passers by are offered quick, free, wellbeing mental health checks.
We all move up and down the mental wellbeing continuum over the course of our lives, regardless of whether we have a mental illness or not.John Feneley
NSW Mental Health Commissioner John Feneley said the chats would help people find the tools to stay resilient through life.
"We all move up and down the mental wellbeing continuum over the course of our lives, regardless of whether we have a mental illness or not," Feneley said.
"When we invest in our wellbeing, we not only improve our experience of life but also build our capacity to cope in times of adversity."
The check ups will be offered in Martin Place from 8am to 7pm. And did we mention the pat-happy therapy dogs? They'll be there from 10am to 1pm.
