And that's why we love him.

Gerard Butler has found himself the latest prey in Daniel Ricciardo's post-race 'Shoey' tradition, after he was made to drink Red Bull from a shoe at the US Grand Prix.

The 'shoey' craze started when Aussie race car driver Ricciardo, skolled a drink from his shoe at the Formula 1 earlier this season and since then he's made it his mission to get others involved.

After Ricciardo was interviewed by Butler on the podium, he flashed his toothy smile sealing the Scottish actors' fate in 'shoey' history.

"I hear Mr Butler does not drink alcohol, I respect that completely but I believe he's going to drink some Red Bull out of my shoe right now. The race wasn't that exciting but hopefully now," Ricciardo said.

"I did not ... listen I love Red Bull, but you've got to be kidding me," Butler said in response.

"I hate you," Butler added before he took a swig from the shoe.
