Bachelorette Georgia Loves Reveals How Bittersweet This Time Has Been

But the newly announced couple has 'still got a lot of difficult times ahead'.

The Bachelorette's Georgia Love may found the love of her life, Lee Elliot, but she can't celebrate just yet.

Georgia revealed on the show that her mum had pancreatic cancer and was receiving treatment. The latest news is not good.

Pancreatic cancer has a particularly low survival rate. Georgia's mum, Belinda, was unable to fly to Singapore for the final episode where family met the contestants since she was receiving chemotherapy at the time of filming. Channel 10 have confirmed she was moved to palliative care.

"It's so hard to know what to say in this instance," Georgia wrote in an Instagram post.

"What should be one of the most exciting weeks of my life has instead turned into one of the hardest with my family going through something no one ever wants to face."

Her supportive beau responded to the difficult situation with comforting words:

"We're all just being as strong and positive as we can be in this situation," Georgia told Kiis FM's Kyle and Jackie O this morning.

"The only thing I'm really thankful for is that I've finally got Lee to be able to be by my side through all of this because it's been extremely difficult going through this and just having him on the other end of the phone. We've still got a lot of difficult times ahead."
